The Chief Rabbi of Tzfat, Shmuel Eliyahu, was forced to return to Israel and give up on his meeting with Jonathan Pollard in prison, following reports that his father’s condition has deteriorated.
Upon hearing the news, Rabbi Eliyahu requested to immediately go to the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens to pray for his father’s health.
Former Chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu is currently in the emergency ward of the Shaarey Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem.
The 81 year old former Rabbi of Rishon Lezion has experienced a series of heart problems and strokes.
Family memebers have asked the public to pray for the recovery of Rabbi Mordechai Tzemach Ben Mazal.
Refua shlema!
Rav Mordechai is Rishon le-Tzion (Sefardic chief Rabbi) and not Rav of Rishon leTzion. Duh.
The conduct of reb Mordechai Eliyahu i observed a couple years back on (i believe it was) gimmel Tammuz as he prepared to enter the Ohel, reminded me of the stories i always heard of chassidim walking into yechidus. A true inspiration. May we hear only good news.
we cant afford to loose another tzadik…
May he have a refuah shleima!
