Close to 400 people packed into the Bobov banquet hall in Stamford Hill, London, Motzei Shabbos for Ohr Hatorah’s first annual Melava Malka.
This event, which also marked Chof Daled Teves, was hosted by the Ohr Hatorah Chassidus library, founded and directed by Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Liberow.
A very enthusiastic crowd both from Anash and the wider Chassidic community sat down together, in great achdus, to a catered meal. Soul stirring niggunim were sung accompanied by live music.
London’s Lubavitch Dayan Levi Raskin gave a fascinating insight into the structure of the Alter Rebbe’s siddur, Seder Tefillas Mikol Hashana. Dayan Raskin noted the speciality of the Alter Rebbe’s siddur which was compiled after having been selected from 60 different siddurim.
Rabbi Shimon Hirschler, a renowned speaker, inspired the crowd with his fiery talk expounding on the impact the Alter Rebbe had on klal Yisroel and that we all have to recognize what the Alter Rebbe bestowed upon us.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Groner, Mashpia of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim in Kiryat Gat, Israel, was especially flown in to serve as guest speaker for this event.
Rabbi Groner emphasized the importance of learning chassidus and that the alter Rebbe wished that each and every yid should be fully immersed in the mitzvah of knowing Hashem and understanding Hashem’s way as much as it is possible for the human intellect.
The large display of seforim set out at the event attracted a great number of chassidim from all circles who showed their eagerness towards learning chassidus and becoming familiar with the great chassidim all the way back to the times of the alter Rebbe. Many seforim were sold throughout the evening.
All the participants were presented with a souvenir of a mamaar chassidus and left greatly moved. The inspiring feelings this event sparked are still felt in the streets of Stamford Hill and many have come forward eagerly appealing for such events in the near future.
Ohr Hatorah Chassidus Library was opened Yud Beis Tammuz 5763 and serves a chassidic resource center for the wider Chassidic community in Stamford Hill.
It houses thousands of Chassidic seforim, journals and publications and a special room in the library has been dedicated to be able to view the many thousands of hours of Farbrengens and distribution of dollars etc.
CDs on Tanya, nigunim, shiurim and fabrengens are frequently distributed to those who are thirsting for toras hachassidus. Ohr Hatorah also hosts Farbrengens and shiurim regularly in its warm and friendly environment.
Skoach Yossi!
Hatzlocho Levi,
Moshiach now!
That is unfair as there are many people who work very hard on behalf of Lubavitch in the UK; this was not by “Lubavitch UK” and was aimed for “Non Lubavitchers”
It was a very nice function with GOOD feedback
Kol Hakavod Levi! You have our support from across the ocean! continue your great work!
after all these years of ‘lubavitch uk’ finally someone is doing something for lubavitch and making a kiddush lubavitch!
Thank You Rabbi Levi Liberow
you have a great zechus and show people that if you put your mind and effort to something, it will bear fruits.
BTW he is first cousin with the shliach Liberow from Flatbush and im sure this is a big zechus for his good health.
Unfortunately heichal menachem in NY isn’t run by Lubavitch therefore there isn’t anything going on there. There is no library to take ppl to and only one event a year on 19 kislev.
The only reason why chassidus mevueres isn’t available online is because those non chabad guys have the ‘rights’ on it and don’t allow it to be shared with the world.
you have been perservering for many years, yeilchu mechayil el choyil.
Levi Londons silent Hero!!!
This must have brought so much Nachas to the Rebbe. Wonderful job Levi Liberow.
May this be the last Pe’ula needed that tipped the scale.
Moshiach NOW!
Yefutzu Mienosecha Chutza. This is what all of us is about. Stories like this bring the greatest Nachas Ruach to the Rebbe.
Building Chabad Houses is great. Lighting menorah’s is fantastic. But Learning Chassidus with Velt is the Bottom Line of everything we do.
May all of us…. shlep more people to such Libraries (Hechel menachem’s too) worldwide … and learn Chassidus together. Then we will have the true Mayamosai K’Osee Mar!!!
