Many hundreds of people were greeted with a strange-looking hut as they came to various landmarks on the streets of Berlin this week of the holiday of Sukkot.
When they approached with inquiries, they were greeted with the traditional “Happy Sukkot” translated into many languages: “Freilische Laubhuttefest”, “Sprasnakam Sukkot” or “Joyeux Souccot”.
One Jewish person responded: “I am in shock to see a Sukkah on the streets of Berlin, where just 70 years ago Hitler’s men reigned!”
But the response was quick to come, “He may have been here then, but today, the Jewish pride will prevail!”
Thanks to the presence of the Sukkah-Mobile, hundreds of Jewish people, many of them tourists from Israel, were able to make the blessing on the Lulav, or just have a bite to eat in the Sukkah in the middle of Berlin.
Special thanks to the Talmidim haShluchim: Chaim Rosenstein, Yehoshua Berkowicz, Aaron Rafkin, Elitzafan Drori, Avaraham Dijan and M.M. Romacianeau, and Chabad of Berlin.
Keep up the amazing work you always do!
they are headed to oblivion, same destiny as Rome etc.
