This Chanukah, ten neighboring Shluchim of Rabbi Levi Deitsch got together for a first time Menorah Car Parade.
Sponsored by Lubavitch of Maryland and Chabad of N. Virginia, on Monday the 6th night of Chanukah, the Shluchim with two dozen Menorah Cars streamed into Rabbi Levi’s Chabad House in Tysons Corner, Virginia.
Accompanied by a Mitzvah Tank from Yeshivas Lubavitch in Baltimore, they paraded through the busy rush hour and shopper traffic of Tysons Corner, Virginia, into Fairfax, VA and around the Capital Beltway where tens of thousands of commuters saw the parade.
It continued through Old Town Alexandria, Arlington, Reagan National Airport, around the Pentagon and into Washington, DC. From there it made its way to Bethesda, Maryland through busy Restaurant Row, up Rockville Pike and past the NIH which had cared for Rabbi Levi for the past three years.
The parade then went back on the Capital Beltway and past the throngs of shoppers in Downtown Silver Spring and finally concluding at Chabad of Silver Spring, which entertained and fed all the hungry participants after a lengthy 3 1/2 hour parade.
