This year?s Chicago Chanukah Parade, organized by Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois, concluded with a beautiful outdoor ceremony overlooking the most scenic point in Chicago.
The parade consisted of Menorahs mounted on cars, vans, and a stretch Hummer, pick up trucks with Menorahs on the back, and was led by the Mitzvah Mobile and a police escort.
Parading down Lake Shore Drive was a stunning demonstration of Pirsumei Nissa and was greeted by smiles and high-fives by drivers and onlookers as well.
The grand finale was the ceremony just outside the Adler Planetarium overlooking the skyline, the most picturesque location in all Chicago.
Everyone jammed the plaza, where they were treated to the music and dancing of bochurim of the Lubavitch Mesivta and the lighting of the Menorah by Head Shliach, Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz.
The parade and ceremony and was covered by local television stations. Refreshments were served and then all the participants received a package consisting of Chabad of Illinois Chanukah scarves and Chanukah Gelt.
Many thanks go to Rabbi Yosef Shmuel Moscowitz, Mendy Lashker, and Bentzion Shemtov, for organizing this year?s parade.
