A new Brochos program has been introduced to the boys in Cheder Chabad of Monsey.
“Know Your Brochos!” is a set of 54 trading cards designed to teach children the proper Brochos on various foods. The children are so excited to collect Brochos cards from their Melamdim as well as to trade them with their friends. They earn cards for saying Brochos nicely, Davening, Bentching, and other positive behavior. The first boy from each class to collect a full set Brochos cards receives a prize.
The boys have also taken optional Brochos quizzes to test their knowledge on the information on the cards. One interesting fact that many boys (and adults too!) may not be aware of is that avocados grow on trees and therefore we make a Brocha Ha’eitz on them.
The goals of the Brochos cards are to bring an awareness and enthusiasm of saying Brochos to the children, and to enhance their knowledge of the proper Brochos.
In Cheder Chabad of Monsey, the boys are being very careful to say the right brochos, out loud, before eating snack and lunch.
Word of the success of “Know Your Brochos!” is spreading, and many other schools are also participating! For more information about this program please e-mail [email protected].
This is one of many examples of the wonderfful, creative ideas eminating out of Cheder Chabad of Monsey.
