A young Chabad couple will be making their way in the coming few weeks to Amsterdam, the capital and largest city of the Netherlands.
Rabbi Akiva and Taiby Camissar were appointed as the new Chabad Shluchim to the Hebrew speaking community in the city which number some 9,000 people.
The couple, who have one daughter, will be opening a new Chabad House in the center city which will be an address for everything Jewish.
They were appointed by Chief Rabbi Binyomin Jacobs and Rabbi Yitzchak Vorst, the senior Chabad Shluchim in Holland, and have received the assistance of Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch.
For well over a year both you Akiva and your wife Taiby brightened our Chabad Center in Geneva, Switzerland. We were all sorry to see you leave – but apparently you were destined for a greater challenge. Now you will have to learn Dutch, but with a good basis of Yiddish it should not be too hard to learn. WE WISH YOU BOTH HATZLACHA RABA…
