The Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe, Joseph Isaac (Yosef Yitzhak) Schneersohn (1880– 1950) was the epitome of self-sacrifice and keeper of the Jewish flame in the brutal Soviet regime that broke him physically but not spiritually.
A prolific author and diarist, he spent hours writing his Chassidic discourses and memoirs.
With special thanks to the Lishinsky family of Ramat Gan, Israel, for sending us this photo in its original format.

in poland-all i know is that the friedeker rebbe stayed in my great-grandfather’s hotel from the 1930s and also gave him a bracha
which hotel was this and where?
excuse me, every pic of a rebbe is special!!!
This picture is neither new nor special. There are dozens of equally inspiring pictures of the Frierdiger Rebbe’s holy countenance. Many of them, including this one, have appeared numerous times in Beis Moshiach and elsewhere.
I am pretty sure this was my great-grandfathers hotel from the 1930s
WOW!
