Israeli police are investigating an arson to the car of Rabbi Yossi Halperin, a resident of the city of Beitar Illit and Director of the Chabad House at the Kotel in Jerusalem.
Parked near his home, Halperin found his car in flames this week and immediately called firefighters.
Shai Turgeman, an investigator for the Fire Department of Beitar, said it was likely to be an arson attack and said the police will continue to investigate the matter.
A reporter for our Hebrew sister-site COL.org.il said it might have been a case of mistaken identity.
While the seats were totally burned, a photo of the Rebbe, the Dvar Malchus daily learning booklet and other items remained unharmed.
