World-renowned author, counselor and lecturer Rabbi Manis Friedman was the guest speaker of An Evening on Relationships for young couples in Crown Heights Tuesday.
In his disarming speaking manner, Rabbi Friedman addressed a crowd of men and women at the Chovevei Torah hall – home to Congregation Bais Shmual Chabad, organizers of the event.
The theme was Relationships and Education and Rabbi Friedman focused on six key questions:
1. How Do I Ensure My Children’s Self-Esteem So They Don’t Need Outside Approval?
2. What Are the Appropriate Boundaries between Different Couples who are “Friends”?
3. How Can a Husband and Wife Work Out Their Differences Respectfully?
4. When Does a Couple Know that their Marriage Requires Outside Intervention?
5. How Do I Deal with My Spouse Always Nagging Me?
6. Does Religion Breed Judgmentalism-judging other Women and Men?
As sushi and wine were served following the lecture, there was a question and answer session, moderated by the shul’s Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Jacobson.

Kola k ‘ vod to all those couples who sat there in public and even allowed their picture to be taken. Without a doubt this lack of turning from an issue is 90% of the remedy. May you have much hatzlacha and nachas from your families.
This is an example of a most useful workshop. We need more programs like this, and IYH if the advice is followed, we will see major improvements with serious issues within our community.
