Goodbye 5770

As the 5770 year came to a close, a new Aron Kodesh resembling 770 was donated to the Chabad House of Kiryat Yovel, Jerusalem. More

I think it’s beautiful. But where does it open? Anybody know?

I am shocked at what extreem people go to. Have you no feelings? I dont mean the Aron Kosdesh, I mean the comments. Is this all you have to do all day? There is a nicer way to say things when you wish to express your feelings. How do you think the donor would feel if he read this? I have found that practically every post has a negetive comment. Please be a little more sensetive in the future.
Thank You

Even if it is not wrong,

it gives ammunition to enemies of Chabad.

Besides, it’s really ugly!

while it is a little silly to have a 770 aron kodesh, it’s preposterous to compare it to avodah zarah. would you say the same if it were a kosel?

wow!

where does it end?

cute, but over the top!

What would the Rebbe say?
September 19, 2010 8:07 pm

I am prety sure the Rebbe would NOT approve of this.

This is just another reminder where hefkerus can lead.

sad... only in israel...

A novel idea, whoopie!
September 19, 2010 4:30 pm

Hey, what about having a small model of the rebbe waving a yechi flag slide out on rails, on the hour? You know, like the cuckoo clocks in England? Plain weird, the whole lot of people who put this in place.

WOW

Um, it’s not so beautiful when you see it in real life…..trust me, I know…
Besides, mah kesher 770 to the aron kodesh?!?!

September 19, 2010 2:00 pm

…..

adorable!
September 19, 2010 2:00 pm

thats soooooooooo cute…. were dose it open?

When is it to far?
September 19, 2010 1:14 pm

How far can we take 770, the Rebbe, and Chabad? Is the Rebbe’s face on the paroches the next step?

Doesn't that smack a little of being improper?
September 19, 2010 12:09 pm

I mean Chabad doesn’t even allow those sheveisi posters or lions at the front of the shul that many shuls have.

I'm sorry but I'm not so impressed!
September 19, 2010 11:41 am

Yes it is a really nice piece of carpentry but is it necessary? it is an aron kodesh for g-d’s sake
to be there in shul and daven facing this is border line avoida zoroh
with all do respect I think that there is a limit to the use of immagination and lubavs need to stick to the script.

what do you think
September 19, 2010 11:12 am

don’t you people think is a bit extreem?
whats the point of making it like 770?
it defenetly does not make the shul nicer or more awsome!

tha'ts really nice
September 19, 2010 10:12 am
