Thousands of Lubavitch bochurim, spending the month of Tishrei in New York, attended a Bruchim Haboim welcome gathering Sunday.
Organized by Vaad Hatmimim, which coordinates Yeshiva activities, the gathering was held at the Rosa hall of Campus Chomesh in Crown Heights.
The emcee was Binyomin Wilhelm, the full course meal opened with a video of the Rebbe saying a Sicha during the year of 5747.
It was followed by a speech by Rabbi Yoel Kahn who vividly remembered that time as he was the chief ‘choizer’ reviewer of the Rebbe’s talks.
The elder 770 Mashpia told the young crowd that the Rebbe’s instructions are as relevant today as they ever were, but noted that he was aware that it’s not enough, and the wish to see the Rebbe again is great.
“The Rebbe will soon be back and it will be alright,” he comforted the eager youngsters.
“Aderaba,” he added, that even more so, when the Rebbe is back “it will be better than before” (referring to the era of redemption).
The main speaker of the evening was Rabbi Aaron Eliezer Ceitlin, one of the Rebbe’s select Shluchim to Tzfas and Director of Chabad’s pre-schools in the northern Israeli city.
Recalling stories and anecdotes of Tishrei holidays with the Rebbe, the Shliach was able to share the excitement his generation felt during those days.
The Director of the Vaad Rabbi Yudi Shmotkin thanked Crown Heights property owner Yossi Popack for his support of the event and for assisting with the bochurim’s hospitality.
As the official part of the event ended, bochurim sat in groups with Rabbi Ceitlin, Migdal Haemek Mashpia Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Segal, Rabbi Baruch Kahana from the Kiryat Gat Yeshiva and others for a night-long Farbrengen.
You sound like a 15 year old Oholei Torahnik, who get’s excited over how many pages, rather what is written on the pages……lost case.
Did you ever read one of those heoros?………..
I have… ehem, enough said.
A Bochur who learned in Tzfas last year.
the yeshivah in tzefas put out more haoros in one year then all the participating (of a mivtzah) israely yeshivos put together.
When they learn, its with a Chayus, a Verimkeit a Koch.
The Americans may be learning the maamorim, but they forget the point of it.
Thats their way to anticipate the redemption.
You cant stand their emunah? Say so. There is no game here.
dream on… they don’t have the slightest anticipation of anything, they’re very comfortable with the way things are, it’s all part of the game… they anticipate the rebbe from 3:10 until 3:15, from 3:30 to 3:35, then it’s right back to the regular craziness, when he goes by for kos shel bracha, HE will merit a hisgalus, they anticipate the rebbe’s appearance when they stand at the shabbos farbrengens staring at nothing. If anyone anticipated the rebbe’s return, he would sit in 770 and learn a maamar. But that’s no fun – that’s what chabad’s been doing for the last… Read more »
so every farbrengen is full of new information that bochurim never knew and believed deep down?
why dos achsisher yid like reb yoel labled hidden meshichist becase he has emuna in that moshiach wil soon com e stop the silly childish poletics gmct
The Rebbe’s instructions are that Moshiach is here and we have to open our eyes, we have to be mekabel pnei Moshiach. I understand the emotional need to go back to the “good old days”, but we must admit that by definition today is better then 20 years ago, and tomorrow is better then today. It’s so much easier to sit on our tushy and wait for the “Rebbe to come back”. Why don’t we do our avodah of kabbolos pnei Moshiach instead? I’m not talking about saying Yechi, that’s another kopout – I’m talking about working on ourselves to… Read more »
The Rebbe didn’t lie. He sincerely hoped and believed Moshiach will come in our generation. Unfortunately, since you can take the horse to the water but you can’t make him drink, we haven’t yet merited the coming of Moshiach. Hopefully soon we will…
nice event… any video??
Wasn’t he saying this for the past 15+ years?
We have 2 choices:
1. To say that the REBBE “lied” to us.
2. To believe everytinng he told us re: “Geuala & Moshiach”
So based on the Sicha of “Shoftim Nun Bais” where the REBBE tells us that he is the Navi of our time & rhat he is announcing that “H’egah Zeman Geulaschem” we onny have choice #2
I agree with you 100%
The topic does not match with the content spoken!
According to these words of Reb yoel, it seems very appropriate to follow and act in the way of the extreme mechichist group who anticipate the Rebbe’s revelation (or return for some..) at any moment, and therefore everything in 770 should continue as before 27 Adar, i.e. shvil, farbrengen, etc…
In essence, there is no division in Hashkafa!
The Rebbe will come back as soon as everyone accepts his leadership by saying Yechi M’HM
what youre saying is hiding half of what youre saying or this is total rubbish
someone who makes a mistake and recognizes it, is a man of truth.Who does not make mistakes?
this “you want to believe” is not for a man of truth. You have to believe the truth, what the Tora and halacha says
Reb Yoel Says:
“The Rebbe will soon be back and it will be alright,” he comforted the eager youngsters.
“Aderaba,” he added, that even more so, when the Rebbe is back “it will be better than before” (referring to the era of redemption).
did popack give out free chickens at the party?
It will be very nice to have a video of the event. And by the way, I agree with comment number 1…
by having sfeikot in the oibershter and in the rebbe and in the people that the rebbe appointed, you will NOT become any bigger or more bishleimut, you will just become an AMOLEIK.
you would fit very good to be a misnagdihe goddoll, and particularly a shachnik.
HAVE A NICE LIFE…
so what are you trying to say,
its not clear if your telling us to be anti’s or mishichists!
He doesn’t say when, only soon. Everyone hopes Moshiach will come today, and if not today, then tomorrow and if not tomorrow, then soon. So duh, as soon as Moshiach comes, all will stand up from the dead, including tzaddikim.
What a beautiful event!
someone who made a mistake about the rebbe and god and torah can make a mistake again. yk’s philosophy is just as anyone else’s. if you want to believe the rebbe will be back and things will be better, you’d better do so not because yk says so, but because YOU know and believe it. and if you want to believe the rebbe never left you’d better do so, not because anyone else says so, but because that’s what you know and believe. once you take your cue and beliefs from someone else you’ve become a chosid of that person.… Read more »
